Director of Marketing Communications

Gale Technologies is a manufacturer of software automation solutions that automate, orchestrate, and optimize IT resources - transforming the delivery of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) delivery.  Based in Santa Clara, CA, Gale Technologies is a pioneer of innovative solutions for provisioning and workflow automation across networking, server, storage, and virtualization technologies.  Gale enables the automated and self-service provisioning of dynamic lab, demo, data center, and cloud environments.  Gale’s extensive customer base includes, Cisco, NetApp, AT&T, Verizon, Hewlett Packard,Ericsson, US Government Agencies, British Telecom, American Express, Amazon, and Microsoft, to name a few.

Gale Technologies is seeking a seasoned Director of Marketing Communications to join an entrepreneurial management team at Gale’s Silicon Valley office. The position requires a motivated self starter to design, implement, and facilitate the annual outbound marketing plan, and oversee corporate market communication and press and analyst relationships.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Director of Marketing Communications will manage and execute marketing communications strategies, programs and deliverables related to market penetration, lead generation, and brand development.  He or she will be responsible for providing leadership and day-to-day operational management of the Company’s out-bound marketing activities, which include corporate marketing, marketing programs and services, and partner/channel marketing.  The Director of Marketing will manage external contractors and vendors and will interface with the CEO, VP of Sales and Marketing, and Director of Product Marketing to develop strategy and implementation of programs for multiple audiences. He or she will develop and manage budgets and analyze program results.

The successful individual will have a proven track record including extensive marketing management experience in fast paced technology markets and will be capable of driving the Company’s efforts to position itself as a visionary leader in its emerging market.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops the annual outbound marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve goals.
  • Translate corporate objectives and strategies into marketing strategies to increase product brand awareness, and develop plans to facilitate growth.
  • Work closely with the sales organization to drive appropriate marketing activities that impact revenue generation.
  • Plan and administer marketing budget.
  • Design and implement outbound demand generation activities including: cold calling scripts, telemarketing, promotional materials, email blasts, seminars, webinars and tradeshows.
  • Manage corporate communication activities, sales tools and develop presentations on all products and company.
  • Ensure that all marketing communications are coordinated, in support of marketing plan objectives, and are effective expenditures of resources.
  • Assesses outside vendors and agencies and hold them accountable in delivering expected service and results.
  • Approximately 25% travel as required.

Requirements and Qualifications Include:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, or related degree or equivalent experience. MBA a plus.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in marketing, preferably in software or high technology environments.
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.
  • Contacts within and experience working with industry analysts, and with trade publication and online/social media editors.
  • Clear track record of driving marketing campaigns to drive growth.
  • Success designing and implementing marketing processes.
  • Clear evidence of developing/introducing winning new products.
  • Success with highly complex product lines and distribution.
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytic and market segmentation skills.
  • Experience in managing marketing programs within budget.

Western Regional Sales Manager

Gale Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Manager for our Western Region to join an entrepreneurial management team at Gale’s Silicon Valley office. This position contributes to Gale’s position as the premier automation solutions provider to the network equipment manufacturer, service provider, government and enterprise customer segment. The position entails identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing new sales opportunities in order to exceed established sales and revenue goals. Seeks new business relationships as well as expands existing account relationships. Gale is looking for a highly qualified 'hunter' sales person that has a good understanding of the telecom industry with excellent communication and presentation skills. In addition, candidates will understand and be able to articulate value propositions that emphasize the power of Gale’s solution based products and services. In order to be successful, the selected candidate must have a competitive nature, be a self starter, good team player and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done – the entrepreneurial spirit found at Gale. The candidate should be able to propose and negotiate solutions to secure new sales – consultative sales practices and experience will play significantly to the candidate’s success.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Devise and execute on quarterly and annual sales plans to meet Gale’s revenue goals
  • Manage sales processes including customer presentations, sales opportunity management, sales forecast and pre / post sales support
  • Manage sales engineering support and sales channels found in Region
  • Develop sales throughout geographic territory – some travel
  • Manage corporate resources, provide constant and accurate feedback to market development and sales opportunities

Qualifications Include:

  • 7 or more years of sales management or direct sales experience required
  • Self starter and entrepreneurial spirit with excellent time management skills
  • Strategic account management experience in addition to new business development experience
  • Solid written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle direct customer engagements while also exhibiting experience with channel sales
  • Technical aptitude and ability to discern appropriate solutions to customer’s requirements
  • High degree of consultative sales experience with a high tech background in hardware and software solutions required

Senior Professional Services Engineer - Santa Clara, CA

Gale Technologies is currently looking for a Senior Professional Services Engineer, responsible for the deployment of Gale Technologies automation products at customer sites. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge and experience with LAN, WAN, Data Center infrastructure, as well a good hands-on knowledge of Linux, and virtualization technologies such as VMware and XenServer. Candidate will be traveling to meet with customers, assess needs, and deploy software in pilots and production environments. Great exposure to a variety of technologies. 

Responsibilities Include: 
  • Assess customer lab infrastructure and test automation practices to assist the sales organization in proposing solutions using Gale Technologies products 
  • Develop, deploy, and support implementation plans for integrating Gale Technologies solutions into customer environments 
  • Become Technical point-person for customer deployments as needed 
  • Assist in identifying customer plans and directions to provide input of additional sales opportunities 
  • Manage Gale Internal Lab for proof-of-concepts, and customer demos 
Required Qualifications:
  • MUST HAVE U.S. Citizenship, No H1-B allowed as this job will require Security Clearance
  • Active Security Clearance is a big plus 
  • Minimum of 5 years of network or administration experience in support of medium to large IP/Telecom service provider / equipment vendor networks / or preferrably data centers 
  • Hands-on experience working with networking gears and network/servers hybrid environments 
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems 
  • Knowledge of a scripting language, preferably Tcl /Expect 
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on effective customer interaction 
  • Ability to travel (up to 40%) 
  • BS degree (or equivalent experience) 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) or Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS) Certif ication
