Nariman Teymourian
Chairman and CEO, Gale Technologies
Nariman Teymourian has been a CEO and COO for more than 15 years and brings a comprehensive set of proven skills, experience, and education to Gale Technologies. He has also held executive positions in several large companies, including TRW, MicroAge, and Lockheed-Martin. Nariman has extensive government experience as a senior advisor, consultant, and researcher with the U.S. Government's Departments of Energy, Defense, and State and related government agencies such as the RAND Corporation, Council on Foreign Relations, and the World Bank. Nariman has been a lecturer at the University of Southern California, where he taught courses on International Business, Political Science, and Organizational Development.
Akhil Sahai
VP of Product Management
Akhil Sahai brings over 18 years of experience in technology, product management, and business development. His career is distinguished by identifying new business trends, technologies and growth opportunities, forging key strategic partnerships and leading rapid development of pioneering and innovative products that have resulted in millions of dollars in revenues. Most recently, he directed the Cloud and Network Services Strategy at Cisco for strategic partnership with VMware and led sales enablement for the VCE coalition at Cisco for service provider customers. Before that at VMware, he managed global product strategy for vCloud Director Software with focus on applications, vCloud API, and Virtual appliances/vApps. Previous work at HP, in the area of web services management led to creation of an HP division. He was also one of the initial members of the Hewlett Packard E-speak project that pioneered the paradigm of next generation web services over the Internet. He has published 80+ refereed papers, written a book on web services management and 4 book chapters, chaired multiple IEEE/IFIP conferences and has filed 20 patents (with 6 granted). He has a PhD from INRIA, France, and an MBA from Wharton.
Bill Martinson
VP of Business Development
Bill Martinson brings to Gale Technologies a wealth of experience in business development, technology licensing, product development, sales, and executive management in technology companies. Most recently, Bill was a CTO in the Technology Alliance and Ecosystem team at Cisco working with industry leaders in System Integration, Virtualization, Storage, and Cloud Computing. He also served as vice president of business development for Visualware, ProactiveNet (Acquired by BMC), and Datametrics. He was also Director of Integrated Solutions for Siemens Pyramid, where he developed storage solutions and systems management software for commercial UNIX systems, and, with business unit responsibility, he recruited and led a team to consistently deliver industry leading storage hardware and software for mission-critical applications.
Garima Thockchom
VP of Marketing
Garima Thockchom is a high-tech engineering and marketing veteran with 17+ years of experience at VMware, Sun Microsystems, and NEC Electronics. Prior to Gale, Garima was the COO & GM, Virtualization and Infrastructure Segments, at Zeenova, a consultancy for technical marketing, product marketing, and channel enablement services for products in the enterprise market. Formerly, Garima was the Group Manager of Partner Solutions Marketing at VMware and responsible for overseeing VMware's partner solutions in the networking, management, high availability and security technology areas. At VMware Garima was instrumental in delivering key solutions with Cisco, HP Software, CA, Symantec, McAfee and 300+ technology partners of VMware. Prior to joining VMware, Garima was the Group Manager of Product Management for Sun Cluster and N1 product lines at Sun Microsystems where she oversaw the growth of the business from 25M to 70M by expanding the feature set of the 9+ products and by tapping into additional markets. Garima holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics and computer engineering from Bangalore University, India. She is a frequent speaker at industry events. Garima was named a "2011 Women of Influence" by the Silicon Valley Business Journal in recognition of her achievements in her field as well as her contributions to the community.
Kevin Rains
Chief Financial Officer
Kevin Rains, the CFO of Gale Technologies, has over 20 years of financial and operations management experience, specializing in small and mid-sized technology organizations with global footprints. Kevin’s expertise includes guiding organizations through strategic planning, new product implementations, accounting system implementations, contract negotiations, international operations, equity financing, and acquisitions. Prior to joining Gale , Kevin was a Principal at Ravix Group, an interim CFO service and consulting company. While at Ravix Group, Kevin served as the CFO of numerous technology based companies in the software, systems, and SaaS industries. Prior to Ravix, Kevin served in senior financial and operational roles at several Silicon Valley companies, including COO at Humanex, VP and CFO at Wabi, and CFO and COO at ApplianceWare. Kevin also served as the senior financial and operations executive at Quantum3D, MultiGen, and The Complete PC. He began his career as a senior auditor at Arthur Young & Company with clients such as Intel Corporation and Apple Computer. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University Hayward.
Avinash Agrawal
VP of Engineering
Prior to joining Gale Technologies. Avinash was the Director of Open Innovation at the SETI institute, responsible for setting up the open-source initiative at SETI Institute. Prior to SETI Institute, Avinash was the Senior Director of Engineering for Data Center Management products at Sun Microsystems. In his role at Sun he helped create several strategic product plans based on corporate priorities. While At Sun Avinash led development teams responsible for delivering multiple products including the Sun Management Center, Service Provisioning Systems, the Sun Grid Engine and the N1 system manager products. Avinash also set up Sun's India Engineering Center in Bangalore India..
James Thomason
Chief Technology Officer
James Thomason has been helping start-up companies build great products and technology in the Silicon Valley for over 15 years. James is a broad technical generalist, with diverse experience in both software and hardware product development, as well as operating large-scale network and systems infrastructures. Prior to joining Gale, James was the CTO and Founder of Virtiv, creating an innovative cloud management software stack for the Linux operating system. Formerly, James was Operations Architect at Ning, a popular social network, where he developed software to automate Ning's production data-center operations. As an entrepreneur and career specialist in early-stage companies, James has served in numerous technical and engineering capacities for a host of start-ups, including 3Leaf Systems, SenSage, Netscaler, Netli, NetVMG, CampSix, Digital Island, Exodus Communications, and ITC Deltacom.
Vipin Sharma
Country Manager, India
Vipin Sharma has been a key member of the Gale India team since 2004. He brings over 16 years of experience in core Engineering, Product Development and Professional Services. Vipin's experience spans Technology Development and Management roles across varied domains such as IaaS, Communications Systems Software and Embedded Systems. While performing these roles, Vipin has worked with a range of technology partners and customers across the North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. Prior to Gale, Vipin worked with Future Software Ltd. (now Aricent) where he held a range of engineering responsibilities around customer projects and development of intellectual property assets. Vipin holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, India.
